Nothing gets in
The Connector sits inside your network and only ever calls out to Salesmatrix. No firewall ports to open, no VPN, no remote access to your server.
For ABM users
Advanced Business Manager already holds every invoice, customer and product you sell. Salesmatrix turns it into a daily view of who is growing, who is slipping and what to offer next, connected straight to your ABM SQL Server in about 30 minutes.
ABM at a glance
ABM keeps its data in Microsoft SQL Server, so The Connector talks to it directly, with nothing extra to install on the ABM side.
On any Windows PC or server in your office that can reach the ABM SQL Server and stays on overnight. Often that is the SQL Server itself.
Your IT person creates a SQL login that can read the ABM database and nothing else. The ABM queries are ready-made, already running every night at an ABM site.
The first load runs overnight. Next morning your customers, products and sales are in Salesmatrix, and each night after that only the new sales are added.
Built for the questions your IT person will ask.
The Connector sits inside your network and only ever calls out to Salesmatrix. No firewall ports to open, no VPN, no remote access to your server.
It reads with a login that cannot change anything in your database. Nothing is installed inside ABM and nothing changes for your ABM users.
The queries are on the Connection page of your dashboard, and Logs show how many records arrived each night. No black box.
It runs overnight and sends only what is new. Updates install themselves and roll back on their own if anything goes wrong.
The same sales intelligence portal every Salesmatrix customer uses, filled with your own ABM history from day one.
Who has stopped buying, who is buying less of what, and what that is worth.
Products similar customers buy that this one does not, ready for the next call.
Set a sales budget from last year's ABM sales and track every rep against it, month by month.
Each rep's own dashboard, and any customer's SWOT on their phone before they walk in.
Everything your business, or your ABM dealer, needs to do. Steps 2 and 3 are for whoever looks after your ABM SQL Server.
Go to dashboard.salesmatrix.com/Register/SWOTRegistration, fill in your company details and pick ABM under Accounting Systems. Use an email address you can check now: it receives your company token and becomes the first administrator login for your dashboard.
In SQL Server Management Studio, connected to the server that holds your ABM database, run the script below. Replace the database name and password with your own.
CREATE LOGIN salesmatrix_reader WITH PASSWORD = 'Choose-A-Strong-Password'; USE [YourABMDatabase]; CREATE USER salesmatrix_reader FOR LOGIN salesmatrix_reader; ALTER ROLE db_datareader ADD MEMBER salesmatrix_reader;
Membership of db_datareader lets the login read the ABM tables and nothing more: it cannot add, change or delete anything.
On a Windows PC or server that can reach the ABM SQL Server and stays on overnight:
services.msc, find SWOTDataTransferService, right-click it and choose Start. From then on it starts by itself.Sign in to your dashboard and open Connection. The ready-made ABM queries are already installed. At the top of the Standard Options tab, choose the SQL Server connection type and enter your connection string:
Server=YOURSERVER\INSTANCE;Database=YourABMDatabase;Uid=salesmatrix_reader;Pwd=YourPassword
Each box saves itself when you click away from it. No DSN or ODBC driver is needed.
The ABM queries import invoices and credit notes with the transaction types CI, CN and CX. To confirm your ABM uses the same codes, run this against your ABM database:
SELECT TransactionType, COUNT(*) AS Lines FROM TRANSHEADERS GROUP BY TransactionType;
If your invoices or credit notes use other codes, tell us and we will adjust your query before the first import.
Salesmatrix collects data once a night. Next morning, open Logs: each stage shows how many records it sent, and the run ends with Update Completed. Your customers, products, reps and sales are then in the dashboard and reports.
We can bring your ABM customers on board together: the same ready-made ABM queries, one walkthrough session for your team, and each business with its own private dashboard. Talk to us about setting up your customer base.
Two things: install The Connector on a Windows machine that can reach the ABM SQL Server, and create a SQL Server login with read-only access to the ABM database (steps 2 and 3 above). Our ABM queries are ready to go, so we finish the rest with you on a short call.
From the analysis code on each invoice line, named from your ABM analysis codes. If your business records reps differently in ABM, tell us and we will change the query to match.
It runs overnight, outside business hours. After the first load it sends only the previous day's new sales, which takes the database a moment.
No. The Connector only makes outgoing connections to Salesmatrix, the same way a web browser does. Nothing connects in to your network.
On servers at AccuWebHosting.com in Sydney, Australia and Denver, US. Each business has its own private dashboard.
Yes, at any time. Disable the read-only login, or uninstall The Connector from Windows like any other program, and nothing more is sent.
50 free user-days, counted from your first import. No credit card.
