4.1 Market Basket — reading a pair

Market Basket shows products that are bought together, one pair to a card. Each card reads top to bottom: the first product, ↓ often paired with, the second product.

  • Attach Rate — the big percentage: of the orders containing the first product, the share that also contained the second.
  • Pairs — how many times the two were bought together.
  • Customers — how many different customers bought both.
  • Reverse — the attach rate the other way round.

Product pairs. A high attach rate one way and a low one the other usually means an accessory: the add-on follows the main product, not the reverse.
